Restaurante Santuario presents “Journey to the Mictlán”: an immersive culinary experience that celebrates Mexican tradition

Restaurante Santuario, located within Esplendor by Wyndham San Luis Potosí, successfully presented the pairing dinner “Journey to the Mictlán”, an immersive dining experience that paid tribute to the Mexican worldview of Día de Muertos through flavor, aromas, music, and audiovisual art.
The evening brought together diners, creators, and food lovers to experience a unique concept that fused tradition and modernity. The dinner was guided by the guest chef Enrique Cruz, whose talent shone in each of the courses inspired by the nine levels of the Mictlán. The dishes were made with emblematic ingredients of Mexican culture such as native corn, ancestral spices, flowers, aromatic leaves, and preparations of Pre-Hispanic origin.
The experience was complemented by a special pairing with the participation of national brands such as Mezcal Patatus, Whiskey Sámano and Masamama, as well as the gastronomic project Totomo, which was a fundamental part of the night’s creative collaboration.
One of the most notable elements was the immersive video mapping, projected on the restaurant’s walls, transporting guests through symbolic landscapes of the Mexica underworld. Lights, visual textures, and sound design were integrated with the culinary concept to create a complete sensory narrative.
